Ricky Martin paves the way for GLBT acceptance

It seems that Ricky Martin is not only an outstanding artist in the Latino community, but an idol for other gay Latinos who fear rejection.

After years of refusing to speak about his sexuality, Martin wrote a letter to his fans last March saying “Today I ACCEPT MY HOMOSEXUALITY as a gift that gives me life…I feel blessed to be who I am!”

According to Jarrett Barrios, president of GLAAD (The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), Martin has shown the world that people’s sexuality doesn’t necessarily fit the preconceived stereotype.

Ricky Martin releases new album, announces tour dates

Ricky Martin has just announced his first tour in three years, which he’ll bring to North America in April and May.

Martin’s world tour is in support of his latest album, Musica+Alma+Sexo, which debuted on Feb. 1.

In addition to three dates in Puerto Rico in late April, Martin will be performing throughout the U.S. and Canada beginning on April 8 at the Amway Arena in Orlando and running through May 8 at the Valley View Casino in Valley Center, Calif.
